The history of this little priory of Savoy takes a decisive turn when in the middle of the XIIIth century, the Provost of Montjoux, chiefs of the Order of the Great Saint-Bernard, decide to settle in Meillerie and to make it the center of the Provost, which extends from the Val d'Aoste to the Pays de Vaud. These former priors of Meillerie, thanks to the endowment of a mysterious seigniorial family, make completely rebuild in 1220 the priory of which we keep today the tower of defense, a part of the church and the conventual building.
