Monument classified and inscribed MH,
member of the Association "the Historic House"
Built by 24 families in 1000 years, Septème is famous for its ramparts of the 10th and 13th, its loggias, salons and its frescoes of the 16th.
Septème entered our family in 1779, when it was acquired by the Marquis de Viennois, the last offspring of the powerful family of dolphins of Viennese.
Often transmitted by women, it belonged to 27 co-owner cousins who, advancing age, raised the question of the future of this property.
It took 8 years for June, one of the 68 of the new generation to take over ... Another woman! In June 2018, Blandine resumes Septeme with Benoît, her husband, and her 4 children ... the adventure begins!
They have just left the Paris region to live in Septème all year long and launch this project.
An association of friends was created on June 18th. It already has 80 members participating in the preparation of the reopening.
Strong symbol, it is the committee of the festivals which reopens with a fireworks on July 7, 2018.
The castle is closed to the visit for 2 years. We reopen it to the public with the intention of making it a reference place to discover the Middle Ages in Lyon (families, schoolchildren, heritage lovers). Such an offer is missing in this territory.
To develop visits, we built a dynamic route (touch screens, evocation of daily life in the rooms, animations ...).
Problem: the historic rooms have furniture but no weapons ... a height for this military stronghold built in the 13th century by the House of Savoy!
3 operations must allow us to propose a quality offer:
Op. 1 / rearm the guardroom and present the 7 types of medieval weapons,
Op. 2 / shoot with real crossbows created by Serge ADROVER, Master Crossbowman,
Op. 3 / shoot at the trebuchet, jet weapon designed by Renaud BEFFEYTE, expert in medieval war machines.
These weapons can be operated by children from CM1.
- Tier 1: 4 000 €, to finance half of the trebuchet.

- Tier 2: € 2,000, to finance 2 crossbows, crossbow tiles and jack.
- Tier 3: € 6,000, to finance part of the armor, helmets and weapons for the Arms room.
... We have lots of ideas...
We will develop the archer part (archer, bow, arrows ...) which also has its place in Septème. The ramparts are pierced with 44 archers classified MH ...
