Last phase of the campaign
In order to allow all those who have received an option to transform it into a share of the SAS du château de la Mothe Chandeniers, the campaign remains open until March 4, 2021.
After this deadline of March 4, 2021, the value of the option it represents will be transformed into an anonymous donation to the SAS du Château de la Mothe Chandeniers and the beneficiary of the option will not have the associated share.

Located in the famous Loire Valley in France, la Mothe Chandeniers is a singular, mysterious and romantic work. It seems to have come straight out of a fairy tale. Throughout its history, it has known sumptuous glory, abandonment, daring reconstruction, a dramatic fire and astonishing survival.
Ravaged by fire on 13 March 1932, the castle of La Mothe Chandeniers, whose foundations date back to the 13th century, was narrowly saved from total destruction.
Little by little, the castle fell into oblivion, but over the years it has been able to invent a new life where nature and architecture live in perfect symbiosis.
Since 2018, the Mothe Chandeniers community has been doing everything possible to save this historic monument.
First of all, it opened it to the public in record time. The interior of the castle has been made accessible and its grounds welcoming, thanks in particular to the 125 volunteer workcamps organised on the site.
A major restoration programme, in partnership with local companies, also made it possible to welcome more than 40,000 delighted visitors.
La Mothe Chandeniers has also developed its shop in partnership with local craftsmen who have notably created the book and the wine of the château. Finally, young and old alike have experienced magical moments through unifying events such as Halloween, summer guinguettes, ephemeral restaurants, Christmas or the Night of the Castles.
After 2 years of major works, the gamble of safeguarding is successful: the community offers the possibility to all heritage lovers to join it.
By taking part in the adventure as a shareholder and co-chateau owner, each participant contributes directly to the development of the project, the rescue of the château and the growth of the company.
The "Ma Part du Château" box contains a numbered membership card allowing the holder to become a shareholder and co-châtelain.
Every euro invested by the new chatelains will be used to continue the restoration programme and expand the domain's tourist activities.
In return for your contribution of 79 euros per share, you become co-chateaulain shareholder of SAS du château de la Mothe Chandeniers.
You also benefit from free admission for life.
You take part in decision-making and volunteer workcamps.
In addition, your first name + the first letter of your surname (e.g. Romain D.) will be inscribed on the large fresco of the co-châtelains which will be enthroned in the park of the château from 2021.
Finally, you are entering a tightly knit community of castle saviours.
This new concept allows everyone to commit themselves in a different way to the preservation of heritage, to exchange on the development of the project and to enter into a united community around a common goal: that of saving their castle. And what a castle!

In 3 months, 25,000 enthusiasts from 115 countries took part in the collective purchase of La Mothe Chandeniers by becoming shareholders of the château: the great family of co-châtelain(e)s was born!
In the 19th century, the Hennecart, Ardouin and Lejeune, thought and transformed this ancient medieval mound into a real architectural madness. It is said that the Mothe Chandeniers is thought like a fairy tale castle and gigantic works are undertaken between 1809 and the beginning of the 20th century.

Having become the most famous romantic ruin in the world, the Domaine de la Mothe Chandeniers has been alive for 2 years through restoration work, visits, events and our famous volunteer workcamps.
The Château de la Mothe Chandeniers wishes to continue along the path of innovation, where heritage preservation rhymes with tourism development.
Financing the restoration of the castle through new activities is the wager for the years to come.
First of all, we are going to continue the vast restoration programme of the castle. Having made the inner courtyard accessible, we now want to open new rooms, such as the Great Staircase or the Baron's bedroom.
We also want to organise more and more events, privatisations and parties of all kinds. We dream of seeing our co-châtelains get married soon in their own castle.
Finally, we would like to offer our shareholders and visitors a unique place to live in our outbuildings, where the hotel and the house of the chatelains of La Mothe Chandeniers will be created.
Between nature and architecture: a unique show
The project for the preservation and development of the Mothe Chandeniers estate is structured around a unique touristic offer put at the service of the financing of the restoration program of the castle, the park, the outbuildings and the chapel revolving around visits, privatizations and accommodation.
It must be said that La Mothe offers a breathtaking show where nature has been able to develop in perfect balance, without ever endangering its castle cocoon. This show has attracted more than 40,000 visitors since the estate was opened to the public in July 2018.
The restoration of the Mothe Chandeniers is an ongoing challenge. On the one hand, the fire of 1932 greatly weakened the structure of the castle, but on the other hand, it sublimated it by allowing benevolent vegetation to develop there.
Today, La Mothe Chandeniers offers a unique show in the world, which attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world.
It is our duty to preserve the magic of the place and we work in that sense with our architects, Carsten Hanssen on the buildings, Arnauld Delacroix on the vegetation.
Since 2019, the company SAS du château de la Mothe Chandeniers has invested 650,000 euros in equity in the restoration program, which in just one and a half years has made it possible to open the interior of the château to visitors.
Our objective is to make the castle fully visitable at the end of the restoration program through the creation of suspended footbridges.

The castle: the next phase of work at 1.8 million euros
The restoration of the castle is the main thread of the Mothe Chandeniers project. At the end, it should allow us to offer visitors a unique visiting experience in the world with the creation of wooden footbridges.
The restoration program is divided into 6 successive stages.
In order to finance this ambitious program, our vision is to develop our entire tourism tool through the creation of an event space, the installation of accommodation modules, the restoration of the outbuildings and the creation of the hotel, a space reserved for co-châtelain(e)s, an exhibition space, a store and a café.
The chapel and its stained glass windows: budget 60,000 euros
The first intervention on the chapel will aim at restoring its unique stained glass windows. The Mothe Chandeniers Chapel is one of the highlights of the visiting experience.
In order to respond to the numerous requests for privatizations, which are a major source of income for a castle such as La Mothe Chandeniers, we wish to equip ourselves with a closed space of 400 m2.
This giant, very luminous greenhouse will enable us to very quickly generate substantial revenues to finance our vast restoration program.
Our hosting offer is an integral part of the development of our project. In addition to the transformation of our outbuildings into a hotel and reception rooms, which will require many months of work, we will install 6 modules made of natural materials in the park of the castle, sheltered from view.
These modules will enable us to launch our accommodation offer as early as 2021 and will ensure significant revenues for the company SAS Château de la Mothe Chandeniers.
The last part of this new campaign will aim to fully restore our outbuildings and transform them into a hotel, reception room, co-châtelain's house, boutique and café shop.
