IGOR OGURTSOV, HISTORY OF A HERO

Igor Ogurtsov and his friends, being students in the University of Leningrad, at the end of the 60sor just out of it, horrified at the view of the poverty in Russia, under sovietic rule, decide to do something crazy - create a clandestine organization to fight against communism for liberty. Inspired by the revolts of the people of Hungary and Tchekoslovaquia, they succeed for three years to escape the KGB.They know that they risk their freedom and may be their lives, but this does not stop them. Indeed, once arrested, they will pay dearly. Igor Ogurtsov, the head of the organization.

He will be supported by the international community, well-known writers as Soljénitsyne, or organizations, like the ACAT. Once freed he will meet with President of the United States Reagan. He was twenty years ago as famous as Soljenitsyne or Sakharov, but little by little he and his friends have been forgotten in the West. He is the only one, who advocated a third path of development for Russia, between communism and hyper capitalism, christianity. For the 50th anniversary of the organization, was published a book, relating their heroic story.

The book is fascinating, as it allows to get into the Russian soul and recent history up to our days and better understand this beautiful country.

Igor Ogurtsov is now very old and we would like to offer him as soon as possible the joy to see his story translate.

HELP US MAKE OUR DREAM COME TRUE!

HOW WILL WE USE THE FUNDS

We would like to raise in a first step level, 1 500 euros, to finance completing first part of translation

30% of this amount goes to social taxes and organization of fundraising

If we reach this amount

Second step 2 500 euros, which will go to help finishing the translation

WHO WE ARE

We are a group of French and Russian people, interested in Russia and its fight for freedom against communism. Because of costs of translations, it is difficult for publishing houses to publish large books although they would contribute to knowledge of this beautiful country and the story of the people who sacrified their lives for it. We would be happy, if you could help us make up for this difficulty, by participating in funding the translation of the book relating the story of Iogor Ogurtsov and his friends . THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
